It's tough to imagine such an important product designed to keep our most vulnerable safe could have a defect. Apparently, this is nothing new as some attorneys target defective car seats.

Diono

According to Diono officials, over 500,000 convertible and booster seat models produced between November 25, 2013 and September 5, 2017 could cause serious chest injuries during a car collision. Although there have been no reported injuries, Diono has issued the recall of the following car seats:

  • check
    Olympia
  • check
    Pacifica
  • check
    Radian R100
  • check
    Radian R120
  • check
    Radian RXT
  • check
    Rainier

Anyone who has one of these models should fill out a recall form on this webpage: https://us.diono.com/safety-notices/. Customers who complete this recall form will receive a complimentary remedy kit. You could learn more about this Diono recall by calling the company at (855) 215-4951.

Harmony Juvenile Products

The company Harmony Juvenile Products has also issued a recall on a booster seat the NHSTA believes could severely harm a child’s chest. Anyone who has the Big Boost Deluxe booster seat should stop using it immediately and call Harmony at (877) 306-1001.

As of today, Harmony is still working on a remedy kit for these booster seats. In the meantime, parents should keep up-to-date on this recall by frequently visiting this website: https://www.harmonyjuvenile.com/ca_en/industry-recalls.

Graco Children’s Products, Inc.

Anyone who has one of Graco’s My Ride 65 convertible car seats should check their product’s model number. The following numbers have all been recalled:

  • 1871689
  • 1908152
  • 1813074
  • 1872691
  • 1853478
  • 1877535
  • 1813015
  • 1794334

The issue the NHTSA had with these car seats is that the seat’s webbing doesn’t properly secure the child. In total, Graco believes this recall affects about 25,000 restraints.

To get a free replacement harness for one of these models, please call Graco at (800) 345-4109. You can learn more about Graco’s safety standards on this link http://www.gracobaby.com/en-US/safety.

Britax Child Safety, Inc.

Lastly, the NHTSA has issued a recall on over 200,000 Britax child safety seats. Apparently, the seats in this recall have flimsy chest clips which is shocking as the B-Safe is noted to be one of the top rated car seats.

The following rear-facing Britax seats are being recalled:

  • B-Safe 35 Elite
  • B-Safe Elite Travel Systems
  • B-Safe 35
  • B-Safe 35 Travel Systems
  • BOB B-Safe

Anyone with one of these products that contacts Britax will get a free stronger chest clip. Please call Britax at (833) 474-7016 or click this link: https://us.britax.com/service-support/contact-information/
